Description

Odyssey Spectrum HB

The Odyssey Spectrum HB is a versatile Alnico?V-magnet guitar pickup that balances clear highs, warm lows, and smooth mids for a truly all-around performance. With 7,000 turns of 42?AWG enamel wire, the Spectrum measures about 8.8?K?—providing moderate output and a full sonic spectrum suitable for clean, crunch, and everything in between.

Construction & Materials

Hand-wound in the USA, the Spectrum HB uses precision-tension coil winding around Alnico?V pole pieces for enhanced harmonic complexity. Nickel-plated brass covers and baseplates ensure durability and effective hum rejection, resulting in a smooth, noise-free operation.

Tonal Character

Comparable to DiMarzio’s Tone Zone and Seymour Duncan’s SH23, the Spectrum HB delivers balanced tonal response. On clean amp settings, it offers glassy clarity with a gentle, musical bloom; when driven, it produces a crunchy overdrive that retains note definition and warmth. Its balanced voicing makes it equally capable of lush cleans and moderate gain tones.

Dynamic Response

The Alnico?V magnet provides responsive dynamics—soft playing yields a bell-like chime, and harder attack brings out a warm, singing sustain. Players can shape their tone with the guitar’s volume knob for endless tonal options, from jazzy cleans to bluesy breakups.

Versatility & Applications

Perfect for players who need one pickup to cover multiple genres, the Spectrum HB excels in both bridge and neck positions. It pairs well with tube amps, solid-state cleans, and analog overdrive pedals. Whether you’re playing funk, blues, rock, or light metal, this guitar pickup adapts seamlessly.

Installation & Compatibility

Designed for a direct drop-in into standard humbucker routes, the Spectrum HB comes wax-potted to minimize microphonics and includes long lead wires and mounting hardware.
