Description

Odyssey Solaris Tele Fat Neck SC

The Odyssey Solaris Tele Fat Neck SC is a beefed-up single-coil guitar pickup crafted for players seeking a fatter low-end and enhanced midrange presence in their Telecaster neck position. Hand-wound in the USA with 6,900 turns of 42?AWG enamel-coated copper wire on Alnico?V pole pieces, it achieves approximately 6.2?K? impedance—delivering a thicker, more robust tone than traditional Tele neck pickups without sacrificing clarity or touch sensitivity. Perfect for blues, rock, and genre-blending styles, the Fat Neck SC adds depth and warmth to any instrument.

Construction & Materials

Each Solaris Tele Fat Neck SC is assembled by hand in the USA with tight coil-tension control to ensure consistent performance. The Alnico?V magnets offer a strong, musical field that accentuates low-end resonance, while the enamel-coated copper wire minimizes eddy currents for clear transient response. The bobbins are molded from high-temperature thermoplastic for durability and resonance, and the baseplate is milled from nickel-plated brass for effective shielding. A thorough wax-potting process removes microphonics, ensuring the pickup remains quiet under high-gain conditions.

Tonal Character

Based on the Fender Tele Fat ’50s neck pickup vibe, the Solaris Fat Neck SC delivers a thick, rounded low end with a warm midrange body and smooth top-end sheen. On clean amp settings, chord voicings resonate with full-bodied warmth, and single-note lines sustain with a polished smoothness. Under breakup, the pickup yields creamy overdrive that maintains note clarity, making it ideal for blues leads and crunchy rhythm parts.

Installation & Compatibility

Designed for drop-in compatibility with standard Tele neck routes, the Solaris Fat Neck SC includes long lead wires and mounting screws for easy installation. The nickel-plated brass baseplate provides solid grounding, and the standard two-conductor wiring simplifies connection to most guitar electronics.

Made in USA

Provides a fat, robust tone with thicker lows and smooth midrange, capturing the soulful character of classic Tele Fat pickups.
