Description

Odyssey Icon SH7 HB

The Odyssey Icon SH7 HB is built for modern players seeking a ceramic-magnet guitar pickup that delivers raw aggression, tight low end, and crisp attack. Modeled after the Seymour Duncan SH-7 ‘Screamin’ Demon’, the SH7 HB features 7,200 turns of 42?AWG enamel wire wound around a ceramic magnet, resulting in approximately 9.0?K? impedance.

Construction & Materials

Hand-wound in the USA, each SH7 HB employs consistent coil tension for reliable performance. The ceramic magnet produces a strong, focused field that tightens the low end and enhances midrange bite. Nickel-plated brass covers and baseplates provide structural integrity and shield against RF interference.

Tonal Character

Inspired by the Screamin’ Demon, the SH7 HB offers an aggressive, punchy tone with emphasized mids and crisp highs. Clean tones are surprisingly clear and defined, while high-gain settings reveal a snarling distortion with ample sustain and harmonic complexity—ideal for modern metal and hard-rock solos.

Dynamic Response

The SH7 HB responds well to playing nuances. Light picking yields precise, bell-like clarity, and heavier attack produces a rich, saturated sustain. The ceramic magnet’s linear response ensures even note balance across all six strings, making fast riffing and articulate lead lines stand out.

Versatility & Applications

While optimized for bridge placement, the SH7 HB also works effectively in the neck position for tight, cutting lead tones. It pairs exceptionally with high-gain amplifiers, active EQ pedals, and noise gates, making it a go-to for technical metal and hard-rock guitarists.

Installation & Compatibility

The SH7 HB drops into standard humbucker cavities without modification. It arrives pre-wax potted to reduce microphonics, with long lead wires and mounting screws included for seamless installation.

Made in USA

Delivers raw, dynamic aggression with crisp attack and tight low-end. Perfect for high-gain settings, its ceramic design offers an edgy, contemporary tone.
